Samrawi (Sam) is an associate attorney and focuses his practice on a broad range of federal intellectual property matters, including U.S. and international trademark preparation, prosecution and litigation; copyright registrations and litigation matters. Mr. Araia has extensive experience in the field of U.S. and foreign intellectual property prosecution and federal litigation. Sam holds an LL.M. degree in Intellectual Property Law from the George Washington University School of Law, where he was a Thomas Buergenthal Scholar. He also received an LL.M. Degree in Comparative Intellectual Property and Competition Law from Munich Intellectual Property Law Center at the Max Planck Institute in Munich, Germany, where he was a GRUR scholar. Prior to that he obtained an LL.B. (Distinction) Degree in Law from the University of Asmara, in Eritrea where he served as a teaching and research assistant at the Faculty of Law for two years. Sam enjoys long range running, reading, movies and cooking.
