Profile
Dr. Nick Fan has been preparing and prosecuting patent applications for over 15 years as a patent agent and as a patent attorney. He specializes primarily in semiconductor and electrical inventions. He is skilled in invention harvesting, which he used as a senior patent operation counsel in a Fortune 500 manufacturing company, to help keep creative ideas for inventions flowing. He has the unique experience of working within a corporation and within a law firm, affording him a better understanding of the client perspective.
Dr. Fan earned his Juris Doctor degree from Seattle University School of Law in Seattle, Washington. While completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics at Fudan University in Shanghai, China, he was selected to be a participant in Nobel Laureate Dr. T.D. Lee’s CUSPEA program, which introduced the best physics graduates in China to universities in the United States. He went to the University of California at Berkeley in Berkeley, California where he earned his Ph.D. in Physics.
Dr. Fan is fluent in both Mandarin and English. He is admitted to the New York State Bar and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
